I joined this group because someone was advertising it in an animal welfare group. Now that I'm reading the posts from you ridiculous ignorant people I realize this is just a hate group. God help you....you are contributing to a world of idiots who believe a dog is evil because of it's breed.

Dawn Dalyce Not evil.....because of it's breed. Dogs just do what they are bred to do. Pointers point, herding dogs herd, setters set, retrievers retrieve, and pit bulls kill. You can try to make a pet of them , and they might try to be good for years, then kill a family member or a stranger on the street.

Jeffrey Sloan We hate the horrific torture and killing of tens of thousands of innocent animals every year by pit bull type dogs doing precisely what they were designed to do. Do we blame the maulers for being exactly what they were bred to be? No, we blame the 2 legged monsters who push and promote these torturers, inflicting them on unsuspecting communities with the idiotic and malicious lie that they are just like any other dog.

Jamie Carter Park Hell yeah I hate. I lost a dog to a dog attack and I used to investigate dog bites. The pain and damage is unlike anything else.
And honestly i hate the way the pits are so popular they just get more and more over bred leading to them suffering as well.

We actually care about the other animals that get mauled.

The messed up thing is: I am not a fan of pit-types. I suspect I care more about the welfare of those particular animals than many of the owners and all of the breeders.

Sonya Del Rio Cerezo It's the pitbull advocates that are in denial, they refuse to acknowledge the dangerous inherent traits of these dogs. They continue to spread their excuses & lies, while the number of victims grows.
Common sense & simple mathematics shows these dogs kill the most each year. But the nutters could care less, all they want is to be able to keep these dangerous dogs....they don't care about the victims at all.

Earl Upham Sorry you are so upset. Believe us, the victims of these attacks by dogs bred to kill, will change your mind. I don't hate these types of dogs! It isn't their fault that they want to kill so badly, they are bred that way. By helping to spread the myth that these dogs are family friendly without homework could be fatal for the unsuspecting individual that half the time is a loving family member. Don't help keep dog fighting alive by your ignorance. Take the time to do your homework. You will be enlightened. I honestly don't mean you any ill will and take no pleasure in reading your post. You are upset and passionate but you are on the wrong side. Do some research and check back. You will be glad you did.

Raven Brooks Excuse me we do not hate anyone. In fact many of us once sat on your side of the fence. The whole situation is sad. The pitbulls get abused and abandoned more than any other breed and it is largely because of the kind of people that breed them. And it is because they do what they were bred to do. I adopted a pitbull. I fell in love with her. She was happy and grateful. And she attacked 3 other dogs in my presence, including mine. Thought it was an isolated incident. She was older and had a lot of wear and tear that I could see due to my back round with dogs. I had to bring her back. Was not going to take another chance with her attacking again or with the child staying at my house at the time.fact was she had crawled up on that child's lap on the ride home from the pound. i fostered another one. someones lost pet, about 2 years old excellent condition. If I had not been there when she attacked my dog for no reason my dog would have been a dead bloody mess and the pitbull would have been greeting me at the door like nothing happened when I came home. Does not matter if they are raised right from a puppy. Soem may get through life without an incident, but once there is an incident the damage is done.Read the posts. It could be your child, another dog you have, your horse, your cat or yourself next. Problem is people like you being in denial. I was involved with show dogs for years. Never saw one at a dogshow. First time I saw one was in 1984.Next time I saw one was probably early nineties. They were popular with a certain demographic. They were owned for status and to prove to people their owners were cool or tough. Then I started seeing them in another demographic. A very different demographic and again it is about proving something.Then came their plight. they are abused and mistreated and abandoned and starved. But they make great pets they are innocent. It is the owner. Yes it can be the owner or breeder. And even if they are raised right and loved and cared for they can still turn and history proves that is fact. yes alot of attacks are instigated by vicious dogs that happen to be pitbulls. And the only dog that shows no signs of ever being vicious and then attacks out of the blue and rips a child apart is a pitbull.They are they only breed that can be fine and a family pet that will turn just because it does because it is in their DNA. If they were not bred to be what they are they would not exists and we would not be here.

Raven Brooks .you are contributing to a world of idiots who believe a dog is NOT evil because of it's breed. It's breed and the job it was bred for is WHY it is evil. You are taking the word evil out of context. Only thing I was ignorant about was thinking I could bring pitbulls home and everything would be ok. This is the results of my efforts. Read the posts here. I am not alone, and my family member that got hurt was not a human.Can you imagine what it is like for people who adopted or even raised a pitbull from puppy and it killed their child 3 years later ?

Liza Vespi I hate that a fringe special interest group is agitating to repeal our pit bull ban which has been keeping 13.5 million people safe from the #1 canine mauler for 10 years now. BSL *clearly* saves lives, limbs and faces. We've proved it.

Raven Brooks Ok I googled it. Problem can only get worse without the law entering into it. Mores will be conceived, more will be abandoned and end up in shelters, more placed in homes incorrectly educated , more roamimg to streets and expending there areas. After what I have learned here and from other research. No one is safe. You could be walking down the street and a loose one is there or they escape from a yard because you walk by with your dog. Scary. talked to someone the other day, i had never met. She worked for the electric company and I happened to get her on the phone out of dozens of people I could have ended up talking to. Her dog was killed by 2 pits that jumped her fence into her yard. So what do we do ?

I think most of us are working to raise awareness of the problem, and even thought the nutters had a 30 year head start with their propaganda bandwagon, we've seen the tide turning in recent years. One thing that works against the pit bull advocacy is that pit bulls and their owners keep making new enemies every single day, with every fresh atrocity, every mauling, every senseless home invasion killing of an innocent animal companion, and every vulnerable human maimed or killed by "the family pit bull"

Raven Brooks Have a cop friend I am going to talk to. i think my mistake on top of my mistake was not reporting these incidents to law enforcement and surrendering both dogs to them. He is different than a lot of cops and he is an advocate for adoption and so on. Does not own a pitbull. Owns several other dogs.His job title is neighborhood enforcement . He deals with a particularly bad neighborhood that has pitbull everywhere and a problem with loose dogs.Fact was the cops would then turn them in to Sheriff Joe's shelter and fact is I do not know how they really respond to one they know has attacked. When I turned the one I adopted back in I had to sign off , did I want to be notified if she was going to be put down. What i do know is I got her from Halo that contracts with the county to take the overflow. And they both claim to be no kill shelters. In restropect as sad as it is is would have been best for her to be put down. As far as the second dog do not know what became of her.

Summer-Lynn Dombrowski I can find pictures of attacks from any breed. I have been rehabilitating animals for years. If any of you have actually spent time with animals coming from some of these horrific scenarios where they need years of love to trust again, you'd see it's not only pitbulls. If you had ever read statistics on what the most aggressive dogs actually are, you would waste your time hating pitbulls, you'd work to save all animals, not just post in a Facebook group.

Any dog can attack, yes I've heard that hundreds of times and everyone agrees but the amount of damage that different breeds are capable of doing should be a factor in the type of dog that you want to expose others to. Try to let logic play a small part in the things you say.

Carol Miller Another pit bull advocate who claims that she "misunderstood" the purpose of the group. Is there a sign up sheet someplace to schedule the appearance of these people? Summer, please read the name of the group, it is not and never has been an "animal welfare group." You have jumped directly to name calling and rage.

This group discusses the problems of dangerous dogs in our communities. Pit bulls were bred for an activity so violent that it is a felony in all 50 states. The criteria for inclusion into the breed/type gene pool was the ability and desire to attack unprovoked and to continue that behavior until death occurs. It is not "hate" to acknowledge this, just simple logic. Many of the members of this group are victims of pit bull attacks or family members of someone killed by a pit bull.

Bill Justice Cryspel Summer, Oh but it is mainly Pit Bulls that are attacking the most severely and fatally. I am glad you are rehabilitating other animals but seriously. Get over these that are maiming and killing so much and help them to disappear by mandatory Spay or Neuter at the least. It will take a while so it must be done with other requirements to keep the public and children safe, especially for them owners that have children that are in denial that their Pits can kill their child for thousands of ? reasons. These unpredictable animals have no place in homes as pets for what they can do and what they have done. It is getting so ridiculous for anyone to defend these so called dogs.
